Defending champion Novak Djokovic has advanced to the semifinals of the Wimbledon Championships, after defeating David Goffin of Belgium in straight sets.
The 15-time grand slam winner, did not perform well in the opener, but still finished it 6-4. The Serbian ace then piled up the pressure, and finished it 6-love in the 2nd. He kept the momentum in the 3rd set and managed to finish it 6-2, to wrap up the match in 1 hour and 57 minutes.
The world No.1, is bidding for his 5th Wimbledon title, and his 16th grand slam trophy overall. Djokovic will meet Roberto Bautista Agut of Spain in the last 4.
Bautista Agut, needed 3 hours and 8 minutes to defeat Guido Pella of Argentina 3 sets to 1 in the quarterfinals of the event. The Spaniard won the first 2 sets 7-5 and 6-4. But Pella stormed back and won the 3rd set 6-3.
Agut, however, renewed his effort and won the 4th 6-3, to book a place in the semifinals for the 1st time.
